Our method of work involves the synchronization of the regular, compulsory curriculum and numerous leisure activities, in order to ensure greater engagement of students in school programs and to build a positive attitude towards school and learning. Also, with such a balance in primary education, children develop important skills of critical thinking, communication, cooperation and learning, as well as active challenge solving.
In the Mihajlo Pupin Primary School, a national program, approved by the Ministry of Education, is implemented through regular and full-day classes.
The school has all the necessary personnel, space and material and technical conditions for full-day classes.
With this teaching approach, it also affects the reduction of the possibility of expressing undesirable forms of behavior, tempers and acts preventively.
All-day teaching is a concept where two primary school teachers, with the help of professional associates, create and implement an entire working day in which everyone learns together, repeats what they have learned, exercises, plays, eats and rests.
On the other hand, we have an extended stay, which provides childcare for children of different ages after regular classes, where they are most often looked after by teachers who in most cases do not even know them. It is precisely because of such a clear difference that we have decided to apply a full-day form of teaching for lower grades.
STEM METHOD
Assisted learning
LEGO bricks
Children are natural explorers and scientists who actively observe, evaluate, and strive to understand the world around them. That is why we have introduced STEM education into our school program. This method provides children with basic skills and concepts that are essential for their future academic and professional development.
STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education uses LEGO bricks and sets to stimulate children to explore and teach them the universal principles of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
These kits help students develop skills in areas such as programming, robotics, creative problem solving, and teamwork through play and experimentation. STEM education is an interactive, inventive, but above all fun way of learning that encourages creativity and logical thinking in children.
This learning model is extremely important for children who are in early development for a number of reasons:
In addition to a rich program of extracurricular activities, we also have a specially designed plan of extracurricular activities, through which we direct children from the earliest years to active participation in the social, cultural and sports life of our city.
Writers, painters, athletes, actors, scientists and engineers are often guests of our school, because we try to provide children with direct contact with people who have a lot to offer and set a real example.
The drama section is an extracurricular activity of the Mihajlo Pupin Elementary School, but also one of the most important educational methods. Through it, we live a varied everyday life (more or less pleasant). Through role-playing, children experience and learn to understand various phenomena and events around them and in them, which are often incomprehensible to them in their early years. Through this method of creative expression, children learn how to better understand themselves and the world around them, but also learn to be compassionate and truly accept diversity.
The revival of historical figures through the drama section in a very entertaining way brings children closer to the history and cultural heritage of the time that is the subject of the section. Literary works transferred to the stage become a special magic. Also, when interpreting characters and stories, children learn how to analyze texts, situations and characters, which develops their analytical skills.
Working in a group to prepare a play or script encourages children to develop skills of cooperation, tolerance and conflict resolution.
In addition to all of the above, participating in drama activities also allows children to express themselves in a creative way, which can improve their self-confidence and self-esteem.
All these advantages make drama sections extremely important educational methods that contribute to the overall development of children.
Quality education based on modern teaching methods, with a program that nurtures the rich cultural heritage and Serbian tradition.
