Educational and recreation center Kosmaj
The Kosmaj Educational and Recreation Center is a center for stimulating various children’s interests. By working in a stimulating environment in a small group, students have the opportunity to gain experience in critical thinking, i.e. develop the ability to independently express opinions, hypothesize, research, independently make decisions, ask questions, cooperate with each other and develop life skills. The activities take place once a month during the working week and the children sleep for one night.
Activities at the Kosmaj Educational and Recreation Center include:
- Lectures on various scientific fields.
- experiments and practical exercises in a customized space,
- field research in the vicinity of the center, cooperation with the local community and the association of women scientists Srna,
- reading short texts, discussing and solving research tasks,
- use of books, computers, basketball and tennis courts,
- teamwork, individual tasks, teaching areas provided for in the Plan and Program,
- And most importantly, develop your own way of thinking.
Participants of the Educational and Recreation Center deal with topics such as astronomy, biology, physics, mathematics, psychology, geography, history, linguistics, visual arts and many others.
During the program, there is no classic assessment, but the way students think and monitor how they think, how they approach the problem, how they progress through new experience, perseverance in work and persistence to achieve the set goal. The goal is for the student to always want more, to challenge himself and thus improve his personality.
What does it look like to stay at the Kosmaj Educational Research Center?
The program takes place in a complex surrounded by nature in Kosmaj. The space is fully adapted to the needs of students. Security is at a high level, because the plot with the building is fenced and with a guard who is present 24 hours. The rooms are equipped with new furniture and filled with a natural light source. A large courtyard is connected to the sports fields.
Students are accommodated in quadruple and six-bed rooms with bunk beds. They prepare meals together with their teachers in the modern kitchen. They spend their free time socializing, walking, and playing. The activities are carried out once a month, with each month covering a new research area.
