In his time, Dositej Obradovic “dispelled ignorance” and “calmed the exuberant passions” of the people. If it were not for the diligence of our scholars who have returned to their homeland from abroad in the last two centuries to create educational and other institutions, we would not know who we are and what kind of rich heritage we are responsible for. Out of respect for the historical heritage of the Serbian people, we have chosen to teach in our school in accordance with the national program approved by the Ministry of Education. We believe that this program is very ambitious, but that, unfortunately, it is only partially implemented in public schools. Not only are we determined and able to achieve the goals of the national program, but we have decided to strengthen this program by introducing numerous additional activities such as folklore, etiquette and old crafts. We strive to develop a sense of belonging, but also a sense of responsibility towards the Serbian tradition. Through language, literature, history, religious education, as well as many other contents, we root students in the spiritual and intellectual heritage of our people and prepare them to contribute to the future of their country.
